Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 9, 2025
Welcome to MathsFlow ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.
1. What Information Do We Collect?
We collect personal information that you provide to us, as well as information collected automatically and from third parties.
a) Personal Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address and password.
- Profile Data: You may voluntarily provide a username and choose an avatar.
- Information from Third-Party Logins: If you register using a third-party account (like Apple, Google, or Facebook), we receive profile data from that service, which may include your name, email address, and profile picture. The data we receive is dependent on your privacy settings with that provider.
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Game Progress: We automatically save your game progress, including your score, level, XP, virtual currency (Gems), hearts, and achievements. This is essential for the app to function.
- Purchase History: We store a record of your in-app purchases (such as "Pro" status or Gem packs) to manage your account and restore purchases. We do not see or store your payment card details; all payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. How Do We Use Your Information?
We use your information to operate, provide, and improve our Service.
- To Provide the Service: To create and manage your account, facilitate the login process, and save your game progress.
- To Manage Purchases: To fulfill your in-app purchases and Subscriptions, and to restore them if you change devices.
- To Communicate With You: To send you necessary administrative information, such as account verification emails, purchase confirmations, and changes to our terms or policies.
- To Protect Our Service: To maintain the security and integrity of our app and database.
3. Third-Party Services (Supabase)
We do not share your data with third-party advertisers. Our entire backend (database, authentication, and storage) is powered by **Supabase**.
Supabase acts as our data processor, meaning they store the data on our behalf. We have a Data Processing Agreement in place with Supabase, and they are bound by strict security and confidentiality terms. You can review Supabase's Privacy Policy here.
4. Data Retention and Security
Retention: We retain your personal information only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you request to delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are required by law to retain it longer (e.g., for tax or accounting purposes).
Security: We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures (such as encrypted connections and hashed passwords) to protect your data. All data is stored securely via our backend provider, Supabase. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
5. Your User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
You have certain rights regarding your personal data. Depending on your location (such as the UK, EU, or California), these rights may include:
- The right to access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification: You can update your account information (like your username) directly within the app's settings.
- The right to erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request that we permanently delete your account and all associated personal data.
- The right to object to processing: You can object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@mathsflow.com. You can also request data deletion by following the instructions on our Data Deletion page.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our servers.
7. Cookie Policy
A "cookie" is a small file stored on your device. Our native mobile application ("app") does not use cookies.
However, our website (`mathsflow.com`) and third-party services we use for authentication (like Supabase, Google, or Facebook) may use cookies or similar technologies to facilitate the login process and secure your session. These are essential functional cookies and are not used for tracking or advertising. By using our login services, you consent to the use of these necessary cookies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy frequently.
